Signcraft is located opposite the Grand Union Canal in West Drayton. We acquired the freehold of the existing premises just over 30 years ago and have developed the site into a state-of-the-art facility which has sustained us through growth, enabling us to deliver high volume, high quality signs to our customers throughout the UK.
We have some high profile clients including Hamptons, Savills, Knight Frank, BNP Paribas & Tata. We are also able to serve smaller companies in a number of sectors, including estate agents, developers and retailers.

We previously wrote about the BNP ParibasReal Estate signage project; it's now the turn of West Drayton (Middx, near Heathrow) estate agent Charles Cameron. Signcraft was instructed to provide a complete corporate design 'makeover' at their head office.
Using a 4-colour theme for each aspect of the business, to complement the corporate blue, we designed and created signage, boards, wall graphics and window graphics. The transformation was scheduled to take place over a long weekend.
The new Cameron Estate Agency image was launched in one seamless operation: the office fascia, internal décor, wall and window displays plus signage were delivered and installed as planned, including a complete change of all of their To Let and For Sale boards.
Signcraft can work with design agencies or can offer a full design service from our in-house team. Take a look at our full range of design and print services.
There has been considerable news coverage centred around the new Tottenham Hotspur football stadium near White Hart Lane and the regeneration of Tottenham High Street but take the 259 bus a few stops and you will arrive in Edmonton, where one of the top regeneration companies in the UK has invested heavily in turning an inner city tired shopping area into a modern centre with great space and, more importantly, retaining the local vibe and market-based centre-piece.
Signcraft was briefed to dress the regenerated areas with smart functional signage, starting at mall level with directional way finding signs and also large format identity and branding signs to landmark the centre. If you visit Edmonton Green, you will see the array of signs but meanwhile, here is a small selection of photographs. Contact Signcraft.co.uk with your signage projects.
Apparently, in parts of the USA, there is a growing trend for house signs to incorporate a photograph of the family who are living there. Interesting.
In business, we are often charged with incorporating company logos into signage, whatever the medium - cut vinyl, digital print, etched glass, metallic plaques, etc. The cost varies between techniques.
Property For Sale signs are mass-produced for each Estate Agent, designed to look distinctive with logo and using company colours and style. More often now, we are including QR code images so that passers-by can use their 'smart phones' to instantly connect to their website for details of the property they have seen.
Edinburgh is full of interesting architecture. In the photograph on the left is a building wrap, printed to represent the building beneath the wrap (or how it will look when the renovation is complete) and on the fence in the foreground is a large printed hoarding that provides details of the whole building project.
On the right is one of the Edinburgh Fringe venues, draped with sturdy printed banners that can be seen at a distance, to help visitors find it. The large poster board at the bottom of the photograph details that day's entertainment.
Below is a very small sample of the number of smaller advertising posters that adorned the city. (Yes, that's 'Ted' from the American TV show Scrubs; actor-musician Sam Lloyd also plays in a music band The Blanks, who were appearing at the Gilded Balloon.)
From aerial platforms or by abseiling, Signcraft's experienced sign-fitters will wrap a building with a durable, weather resistant banner, printed to a client's exact specifications. Additionally, we can print and erect large site development signs.
Most impressive are the very large advertising hoardings we have supplied to clients.
Working in London presents logistical difficulties when delivering and erecting signage and certain destinations are virtually no go areas until the Olympic games are over.
In the meantime, business needs to continue and there are no sensible contingencies available to service providers trying to access London so we are thankful that we are extremely busy on the South Coast.
Commercial property investments in Portsmouth and the surrounding areas seem quite buoyant and Signcraft has been regularly visiting sites to add new business tenants to an ever expanding way finding system in one of the area's major projects, as well as identity and tenant directory signage in near-by Southampton.

Following the recent installation of our new W64S Seiko roll to roll printer we have just acquired a second flat bed digital UV printer that allows us to print even higher quality images direct to substrate.
This has required a complete re-design of the ground floor production facility but we are sure that the disruption will be justified as it will enhance our output and end quality capabilities.
Our new capability will open up amazing opportunities for large format signage. Test us! Contact us with your most challenging signage projects now, 01895 442768
Signcraft has received accreditation from SAFEcontractor, a leading edge safety scheme programme which recognises very high standards of health and safety practise amongst UK contractors.
A delighted Bob Colwell, Signcraft's Managing Director, states "Installing signage is a skilful and sometimes difficult task and the safety of our staff and the general public need to be uppermost in our considerations; there is an ongoing responsibility to perform well and install signage in a safe and permanent manner no matter what the scale or degree of difficulty may be".
SAFEcontractor accreditation demonstrates Signcraft's commitment to safety and is expected to be viewed positively by prospective clients. The company’s application for SAFEcontractor accreditation was driven by the need for a uniform standard across the business and a desire to continue to provide a quality service.
John Kinge, Head of Risk at SAFEcontractor said "Major organisations can no longer run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies. More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that Signcraft has done. The firm’s high standard has set an example, which hopefully will be followed by other companies within the sector".
Under the SAFEcontractor system, businesses undergo a vetting process, which examines health and safety procedures and their track record for safe practice. Those companies meeting the high standard are included on a database, which is accessible to registered users only via a website, www.safecontractor.com
Over one hundred and fifty major nation-wide businesses, from several key sectors, have signed up to use the scheme when selecting contractors for services such as building, cleaning, maintenance, refurbishment or electrical and mechanical work.
Employer-organisations who sign up to the scheme can access the database, enabling them to vet potential contractors before they even set foot on site. These employers agree that, as users of the scheme, they will engage only those who have received accreditation.
Signcraft specialises in designing, manufacturing and installing commercial property signage and property marketing signs, banners and displays but their services extend to wall art, vehicle graphics and lighting.

Staying ahead with new print technology is vital, not only to retain existing clients and provide the best possible service, but to encourage new clients to work with us.
We noticed an increasing demand for ultra high resolution images so we determined to identify the most efficient and sharp digital printer available at a sustainable cost. On our short list was the newest generation Seiko W64S which we decided on, in part because we had confidence in the company's products, having had two early Seiko 64S machines that proved reliable for a number of years.
The colour gambit and resolution quality of the W64S is comparable with photographic images, which enables us to produce signage of the highest quality. We have found it easy to use and have also noticed benefits in production speed and reduced environmental impact.

We have included some photographs for you but these have been optimised for the internet so, unfortunately, the quality cannot be seen via your computer screen.
At Signcraft, we operate both flat bed technology and roll to roll technology to enhance the services we provide for our discerning clientèle.
Signcraft has invested in sound training for our staff, who are experienced and enthusiastic, each vehicle having a team of two who are tasked with dealing with as many issues at source as is possible, in order to minimise time loss and ensuring the best possible presentation of the signs.
We have also invested in UV digital printing to reduce the use of damaging solvents associated with conventional digital printing which is way ahead of EU legislation that we know will be coming into force in the future.
Thirdly, we have invested in and are about to launch a new website on the world ... watch this space for more news!
Commercial agency sign boards, “For Sale” or “To Let” signs on offices, retail or other commercial buildings have seen little change in recent times. Typically constructed from timber frames with thin plastic faces replacing the previously used hardboard faces, this traditional method has lasted a number of years. Such cumbersome and wieldy signs have been largely accepted as fit for purpose and many are still made this way by some suppliers, often fixed to the buildings with nails.
Here at Signcraft, we have developed a readily re-cycleable all-plastic sign board, using specially sourced industrial grade fluted plastic, resulting in a board that is lighter and, consequently, easier to handle and safer in the event of unforseen accidents.
A number of our competitors re-use wooden framed agency boards by changing the top message, a practice that was universal within the industry for years. We believe that it is not a safe practice to re-use damaged or weakened framework, therefore we only use signs on a one time basis; this helps to ensure that the product is fit for use and will remain in good condition for the full year that we cover it under our public liability insurance.
On the subject of safe installations, our policy is not to use nails when installing - we always secure the signs properly using screws. This process not only meets with our strict health and safety code but ensures minimal damage to the property and has proven to be far safer in storm conditions, extensively reducing incidents of damage and injury.
Last winter, November and December activities were hugely effected by the weather and, as our end product is the installation of our signs, we just froze like the snow! As a result our end of year figures were sadly low and we had a frenetic time catching up before the 2011 New Year.
At the end of 2011, however, we are all happy and full of seasonal spirit - the euphoric type - and are looking forward to 2012 with enthusiasm.
A big warm "Thank You" to all our customers for a great year. We'd be honoured to serve you again in 2012 and we look forward to speaking to you all after the January 4th.
We also look forward to welcoming new signage clients, whether you need a total design service, specialist signage, vehicle livery, window manifestations, fascias, posters, lighting and display systems, wall art, flags and flagpoles, cast iron signs, monoliths, banners, wraps, wayfinding and agency signage ... and more!
