Art Deco Regeneration Project Brought to Life

A glorious art-deco cinema in Eltham/Kidbrooke became derelict during the first decade of the new millennium. As a Grade II listed building, English Heritage wanted to restore and preserve the external fa├žade and Greenwich council had invited plans for regeneration.

The final plans (now complete) included a mix of public space, retail outlets and residential which occupy the site. The Cathedral Group was responsible for the development, closely watched by The Kidbrooke Kite, whose leading image features our safety enclosure hoarding, printed with a nostalgic scene of people queuing to see a movie. Detail on the hoarding included posters from films of the era, e.g. The Third Man.

The hoarding was designed to sustain a positive interest to passers-by during development, so much nicer than a depressing blank wall for months on end… almost a pity to take it down.

Signcraft specialises in all areas of Architectural/Property and AgencyDevelopment signage, excelling in the more challenging projects. We also have a very effective in-house design team. So, what can we do for you? Talk to Bob or Tony on 01895 442768.
